With a focus on quality improvement, quality and safety, this is a role for a finance leader who can consistently create a positive and productive culture that continually promotes finance staff development.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will be joining the team at a challenging time as we lead the trust through the post COVID financial environment, working as a valued member of the integrated care systems finance leadership community. Able to deputise for the Chief Finance Officer (an Executive Director) the Operational Finance Director will be able to demonstrate the ability to build credibility with, inspire confidence and demonstrably influence staff at all levels across our diverse services.
A forward thinking and innovative leader of our finance team and trust senior leadership team with experience working as a senior finance professional in a large, complex organisation, you will have proven ability in leading, transforming and delivering a range of financial services, leading the trust cost improvement programme each year. With the ability to gain credibility with a range of stakeholders including trade unions, you will have the ability to interpret and advise on complex financial issues.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead the successful delivery of the Trust's strategic financial objectives, through the effective management, development and operation of internal financial targets, procurement, and counter fraud processes and policies.
The post will work closely across all senior clinical and senior operational managers, both internally and externally, to optimise financial performance in order to support the delivery of the best possible quality and range of services to patients.
To lead the finance and procurement functions in the provision of high level, expert financial and commercial advice across the Trust, including strategic and operational leadership of the trust long term CIP and financial recovery framework.
Whilst recognising the role of the Trust within the Cheshire and Merseyside ICS, the post holder will seek to support and influence the longer term strategic and shorter-term system operational plans.
The post holder will deputise for the Chief Finance Officer across the finance and procurement aspects of the portfolio.

* Commercial expertise or approach gained either in the private sector, or through a commercial parternership or arrangement in the public or third sector.
