We aim to recruit a dynamic nurse with relevant Emergency Department experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills with empathy and compassion at the heart of the care that they provide. You will be expected to deliver high-quality clinical care, lead a team of nurses and HCSWs, promoting and maintaining high standards of nursing care within the current service. You will be actively involved in shaping the future of the Royal London Emergency Department and will be supported in achieving your career goals in relation to developing clinical, management and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
Leads by example as an experienced Senior Nurse providing organisation and leadership to the multi-professional team. To ensure flow within the Emergency Department; constant overview of all areas of the department (resuscitation, majors zones, clinical decision unit (CDU), initial assessment). Assist with flow into and out of the Emergency Department, including CDU and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) by escalating issues to specialities/managers and using all areas of the ED and hospital to their optimum with the aim to resolve and improve patient experience.
To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
Supervises: Junior qualified staff, Emergency department assistants (EDAs) and student nurses.
Manages: Ward department/environment and the nursing team including EDAs on a daily basis.
