As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you lead a technical area within Corporate Technology's Finance domain, driving impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job Responsibilities
* Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
* Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
* Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
* Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
* Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams.
* Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
* Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
* Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
* Experience in enterprise-scale application design, development, and operational stability.
* Practical cloud-native experience.
* Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
* Hands-on experience with Big Data and distributed computation systems (HDFS, Spark, Apache Flink, Databricks).
* Hands-on experience with Java, Python & Spring Boot, and cloud-native foundations.
* Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.).
* Proficiency with AWS services, including EMR and EKS.
* Experience with Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.
