As Vista continues its transition to a skills-led organisation, we are seeking an experienced Skills Project Lead to drive the implementation of this strategic initiative. This role will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, ensuring the successful development and integration of a skills-based framework across hiring, performance management, and workforce planning.
The Skills Project Lead will play a critical role in managing the skills mapping process across Vista’s 981 unique job titles, developing a centralised skills database, and supporting business leaders in embedding skills-based decision-making into their talent strategies. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven workforce planning expertise.
This role will be based in London.
Your Responsibilities
1. Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Skills-Led Organisation project, managing timelines, deliverables, and key milestones.
2. Oversee the mapping of skills to all active roles using a structured methodology, leveraging AI-driven insights, employee focus groups, and leadership validation.
3. Develop and maintain the centralised skills database, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across HR and business functions.
4. Collaborate with HR Directors, Business Leaders, and Talent Teams to embed skills-based approaches into hiring, performance management, and workforce planning.
5. Manage the design and implementation of a skills-based hiring question bank, ensuring hiring managers have access to structured skills assessment tools.
6. Work closely with HR Technology teams to ensure integration of the skills framework into HRIS and talent management platforms.
7. Develop and execute a change management and training strategy to ensure adoption of skills-based practices across the organisation.
8. Provide regular project updates, insights, and risk assessments to senior leadership, including the Chief People Officer.
9. Drive continuous improvement by monitoring engagement, adoption rates, and the impact of skills-based approaches on talent mobility and business performance.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
10. Proven experience in workforce planning, HR transformation, or project management within a complex organisational setting.
11. Strong expertise in skills taxonomies, job architecture, or competency modelling.
12. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive consensus.
13. Experience managing large-scale talent or HR projects, particularly those involving data structuring and systems integration.
14. Hands-on experience working with HR systems, skills frameworks, or workforce analytics tools.
15. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data, identify trends, and drive strategic insights.
16. Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams effectively within a fast-paced environment.
17. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is a plus.
