35 hours per week. Working on day shift, starting at 8am and finishing at 4pm on a Monday to Friday basis. Flexibility to work outside of these hours to suit business needs.

We are now recruiting for a QA Compliance Specialist to join us. Reporting to the Operational Quality Manager, this role will be responsible for:
Key Accountabilities:
* Based on risk review the audit schedule ensuring compliance to all of the accredited standards and the needs of the business. Organise, conduct and take part in external & internal audits to ensure adherence to all relevant procedures and policies and reporting to management, execution and sustainability of results / outputs. Develop continuous improvements linked to outputs. Track corrective action completion and report to departments driving for improvement.
* Drive compliance to internal and external standards such as BRC, FEMAS, ISO 9001 etc. and carrying out GAP analysis prior to the audits reviewing the legislation consolidations and position statements etc. and consult with legal if required.
* Leading the sensory panel at Marston’s. Imparting all relevant trainings. Managing the TVS program for site. Initiating root cause investigations for any deviations in the sensory through local panel & consumer complaints.
* Coordinate the sensory program with Copenhagen and making sure local practices are in line with group sensory program.
* If changes to the standards support implementation and where annual presentations are required, update and re-issue as training (FEMAS, Allergen Awareness etc).
* Liaise with the external auditors and local authorities (Trading Standards, Environmental Health, NBC, NCC etc.) providing information required prior to the audit. Organise the audit with all key stakeholders. Ensure any non-compliances raised are submitted on time to ensure re-certification.
* Drive continuous improvement by attending regular meetings with Group on the Food Safety Network and if any incidents are reported from other breweries communicate to relevant departments so lessons can be learnt.
* Keep up to date with Food Safety Alerts, Food Law Alerts and the AIC (agricultural industries confederation) and escalate anything relevant.
* Establish appropriate hygiene standards for designated area, based on risk assessment in alignment with group GMP standards. Implement hygiene and process confirmation audit schedules. Conduct accompanied audits to agreed schedule, highlighting action required. Implement agreed corrective action plan and evidence that improvements are achieved and sustained.
* Provide appropriate training and coaching where required to support ongoing development of auditors.
* Drive continuous improvement in the IMS System by carrying out trouble shooting issues and if required with IT. Reporting regularly to all departments on improvements and overdue actions. Organising and attending the Management Review looking at the effectiveness of the system and review the action log quarterly with the Leadership Team.
* Take part in reviewing and writing and co-ordinating effective and replicable site policies, SOPS, OPLs that provide consistency of approach and are validated and verified through auditing.
* Provide appropriate training and coaching where required in the IMS System.
* Liaise with Customers, Suppliers and commercial when required providing information as requested, filling in questionnaires and providing nutritional information.
* Carry out root cause analysis (RCA) on any Feed complaints, raise a non-conformance, escalate and report back.
* Management of subcontracted Pest Management activities for Marston’s Brewery and any offsite warehousing. Regular meetings to take place with all key stakeholders to ensure any issues are escalated. Provide guidance where required on Pest Management and adherence to the BRC Standard.
* H&S participation in monthly proactive hazard identification.
* Provide appropriate taste training internally and externally, writing presentations applicable to the customer. Evaluations and coaching where required and support ongoing development of tasters.
* Carry out triangular tastes and profiles on NPD/Trials etc. and report results.
* As a trained taster take part in routine and exceptional taste panels.
* Work with the group Taste Best Practice group towards ongoing development & improvement of knowledge, methods and approaches, also driving independent local continuous improvement.
* Have an excellent understanding of the relevant areas of the COM, being party to recommendations going forward and constant awareness of areas of group development regarding taste & standards.
* Responsibility for the co-ordination of non-conformances relating to taste, escalate where appropriate, and co-ordinate effective resolution and sustainable conformance, linked to the above.
* Ensure compliance with CILAS internally & externally taking necessary action to address any areas of non-compliance or concern.
* Responsible for storing and sampling retention small pack samples throughout shelf life for taste, consumer complaints and local authorities.
* Co-ordination and collation of local and group reporting metrics, including KPI’s, taste reports etc.
* Responsible for sending samples, external (due diligence) & ad hoc analyses, ensuring adherence to the Group COM sampling plans and Customers.
* Management of subcontracted Pest Control activities for Marston’s Brewery.
* Provide cover for the customer complaint administrator. Escalate all food safety & legal compliance complaints. Identify trends & support improvement activities to reduce complaint levels.
* Hold responsibility for spend on external analysis & samples, driving cost savings where possible.
Experience and Key Attributes:
* IT Literate with experience using MS Office and SAP
* Knowledge and understanding of HACCP intermediate level, BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
* Organisational skills with experience as a lead auditor
* Customer focused mind-set when working with suppliers, customers, external auditors and local authorities
* Diploma in Brewing
* IOSH certification (essential) with NEBOSH (desired)
* Cellar Management and Train the Trainer certifications
