As Senior Civil Engineer you will provide technical guidance and solutions on a range of potable water non-infrastructure capital projects, being involved at early conception of the scheme to final completion. You will be responsible for your own and your direct reports technical deliverables. These deliverables will be associated with the wider Capital delivery programme. In your role, you will ensure the quality and CDM2015 compliance of technical delivery whilst utilising the company's engineering specification and quality assurances processes. You will require reviewing and implementing appropriate procedures and principles, alongside ensuring competency of direct reports. You will line manage direct reports to provide team administration, conducting of company appraisals and mentorship of civil engineering resource. Although this role offers flexible/hybrid working, you will be expected to travel to any location or site within South East Water’s supply areas, as required, as part of the project(s) you or your team are working on e.g. pre-construction and construction phase elements such as scoping or Contractor progress/design review meetings, defect reviews etc. Main Responsibilities The coordination and management of Civil Engineering direct reports. This includes: conducting 1:1/Feedback sessions, conducting appraisals, managing workload, technical support, approval of holiday and expenses, quality control, facilitating support during reactive and emergency work situations Check and Review of project scopes ensuring they achieve the required outputs and quality standards Providing technical solutions and support on complex capital projects, including the production of Scope Documents, Works & Site Information, Design Drawings, CDM Documents and compilation of job packs to required deadlines Liaison with internal stakeholders and external 3rd parties, to seek approvals to facilitate projects Undertaking site visits to undertake audits and provide guidance to contractors Work closely with Project Managers in regard to delivery dates, programme and cost analysis You'll need: Skills / Qualifications / Experience HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering or other similar Chartered or working towards Chartership Experience in the utility industry, preferably in potable water Strong experience in design, construction and maintenance of non-infrastructure and infrastructure assets, including WTW, Booster plants, pipelines, services and hydraulics A keen, committed and motivated individual with excellent communication skills Demonstrate and implement sound engineering judgement Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and how it is applied to projects Excellent time management skills Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - knowledge of Google Workspace would be beneficial Benefits package: Excellent Stakeholder pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution. 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays per annum, increasing to 6 weeks with length of service.
