Job Description:
Are you an experienced Learning Support Practitioner, 1:1 Support Specialist, or SEN Teaching Assistant? Are you an individual with a knowledge & interest in Autism within an Educational setting?
Pertemps Education are currently working in partnership with an Ofsted outstanding specialist SEN school based just out of Colchester. This school upholds a dynamic provision of special education, setting the standard across East Anglia for young people with autism and additional complex needs between the ages of 4 and 20 years.
The school has a very unique and refreshing approach to education, utilising occupational & speech language therapy, in addition to therapeutic intervention, and well-being specialists for staff & pupils alike. This is noticed immediately as you enter a classroom at the school - staff and pupils share a 1 to 1 comradery and partnership, whilst every member of the team understands that it is impossible to plan a perfect day within SEN! The school boasts a dynamic range of resources, including an indoor swimming pool, horticulture ground, outdoor racing track, large animal therapy areas, and forest outdoor schooling enclosures. On a busy day, the school really feels like a mini society closed off from the outdoor world (although many external ventures & trips are enjoyed monthly).
We are looking for a candidate who:
1. Can start as soon as possible (only if you hold an active DBS - we can also process one for you) / January or February 2024
2. Is happy to go onto a salary after a period of 20 working weeks with agency (This is a direct Temp to Perm offer & contract - this is a PERMANENT JOB)
3. Confident at dealing with Autism & Complex Needs on a 1:1 & classroom level or willing to learn and be trained.
4. Has practical and theoretical knowledge of understanding autism in a classroom or interpersonal care setting
5. DBS Enhanced Certificate (Update Service)
6. Has interest or accreditation in holistic therapies & therapeutic intervention
7. Available to attend an Interview & Classroom Observation by the second or third week of January 2024
8. Has 2 recent references that can be contacted for vetting
9. Wants to be part of a bit of daily magic, paid fairly for it, and leave pupils and staff with long last memories.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the attempt to make a difference for pupils with complex needs, those who struggle with anxiety and depression, speech development, and those who have the academic ability but need the emotional & nurturing support. We would love to hear from you over the next 2 weeks. After application please expect contact from our Specialist Consultant Branden at Pertemps within the next 48 hours.
Those with a notice period of 5 weeks or less are welcome to apply! Thank you so much! We will be conducting interviews at the school across January.
Times of Work: 8:30am to 4:15pm
Pay: £93.75 agency rate (£2 umbrella deduction per day - You are paid weekly on Fridays before joining on monthly direct salary with the school)
