Principal Electronics Engineer
Location: Horsham
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000
A leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical and radar systems for defence, security, and aerospace applications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Electronics Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide expertise in circuit design, components, and PCB technology, working in technology areas of EMC, Power Management, Servo Control, processor interfacing, and communications.
2. Provide expertise in power and signal transmission over wired mediums, with the ability to define and objectively review an overall architecture.
3. Play a key role within a project and set the standards of good engineering practice.
4. Review and analyse processes and practices within the department, driving and encouraging innovation across the board.
5. Regularly communicate with senior management, customers, and other key stakeholders, maintaining a focus on tactical and some strategic oversight of projects, technology, and team development.
6. Take a lead role in developing or enhancing technology within the business, providing subject matter expertise for technology areas and applying these to R&D development activities or projects.
Skills and Knowledge Required
1. Strong degree in a related discipline accredited by the IET. Typically, 6 years relevant experience expected.
2. Proven experience of leading and/or supervising projects or people.
3. Solid all-round theoretical and practical understanding of electrical and electronics designs.
