Summary:
As a Preschool Cook at Chesterbrook Academy, you will plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the preparation, cooking, baking, and serving of a variety of foods in large quantities. You will serve food hygienically, interact with children to model proper eating etiquette and food handling, and ensure the kitchen remains clean and organized according to health standards. Additionally, you may assist with classroom coverage, bus runs, and other school operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Culture: Positively influence peers to meet the school’s standards of excellence. Provide and maintain quality meal programs, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of food to children.
2. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean kitchen and food prep areas to ensure safety daily.
3. Serve & Engage: Serve meals and engage with students, teaching proper eating etiquette and food handling skills for lifelong benefit.
4. Relationship Building: Collaborate effectively with educators and administrators. Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, students, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years or older.
* Comply with company and state standards, maintaining valid credentials.
* Pass a state and federal background check.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students.
* High School Diploma or GED, plus at least two years of experience cooking in large quantities, preferably in a school setting.
* Willingness to obtain a ServSafe credential if not already held.
