The team/department
The Strategy & Architecture (S&A) team, part of the Technology division, plays a critical role in driving the FCA's strategy through effective Enterprise Architecture. We ensure that the FCA’s mission and plans are realised efficiently by shaping a scalable and value-driven architecture. Our team aligns strategy with enterprise roadmaps, supports change initiatives, and builds collaborative business cases to enable high-quality investment decisions. By providing a clear line of sight from strategy to execution, we help set projects up for success and ensure the realisation of business outcomes.

What you will be doing (the role)
* You will lead and inspire a diverse engineering team to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, promoting a DevSecOps mindset and driving digital transformation initiatives.
* Responsible for driving creation of policies and standards as well as defining the key measures and metrics that each engineering team can adopt and implement as part of their roadmap.
* Ensure that the technology and tooling choices of the organisation support the current and future business needs including our growth into AI and other emerging technologies.

* As part of the Strategy and Architecture function, you will influence delivery strategy and investment in future infrastructure, tooling and processes that will directly impact the FCA's ability to deliver technology effectively.
* You will blend your strategic thinking and technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills to guide our engineering teams in delivering world-class solutions that are secure, scalable, and innovative.
* Success in this role will reshape our engineering culture, delivery approach, and technology strategies.
* You will work with our internal teams across our UK locations and external partners to introduce new modern ways of working and value to the FCA, which will include a requirement to travel (including internationally) to build strong links to our teams.
* You will be a key link to the business, working with senior stakeholders and the wider teams to ensure a user-centred, data-led approach to understanding the challenges facing the business and the outcomes that we need to deliver.

The skills and experience you will have
Minimum

* Proven track record of successfully leading and transforming engineering teams in a digital transformation context.
* Experience of agile, scrum, and kanban with application at an enterprise level.
* Experience with DevSecOps practices.
Essential
* A skilled individual who thrives on taking ownership of business change initiatives.
* Experience of leading in-house and partner teams across different locations including onshore and offshore technical development teams.
* Practical experience of developing cloud-native solutions.
* Experience of delivery automation and CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience of driving adoption of industry best practice horizontally across a matrix structure.
* An understanding of the financial services industry, including its regulations, processes, and the broader financial ecosystem.
* Demonstrable leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

* A competency-based interview and case study.
* Psychometric Assessment.
* Final Interview.
