Summary:
TheEffluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Operations & Maintenance(O&M) Technician will be responsiblefor operating andmaintaining the mechanical electrical instrument and process assetsassociatedwith the effluent treatment plant on a client site. TheTechnician will take on an active role in utilisinga ComputerisedMaintenance Management System (CMMS) for onsite Maintenance. TheETP O&MTechnician will also support the operations andmaintenance of other local sites onoccasions.
The ETP O&M Technician will beexpected to monitor the plant and implement any operationalchangesthat are required. The Technician will also prepare plant forPlanned & CorrectiveMaintenance tasks as required. The ETPO&M Technician will also be expected to carry outtherequired analytical testing & input this data onto acomputerbased system to monitor and recordplantperformance.
In addition the ETP O&MTechnician will carry out more complex maintenance of equipmentsuchas cleaning / calibration of process instruments servicingpumps replacing valves as necessary andgenerally ensuring theprocess assets are maintained in as good condition aspossible.
The role also requires that the assetsare operated at optimum performance at all times and theTechnicianwill form part of a team framework to assist in thistask.
The role requirements are the safe &seamless operation of the ETP in accordance with theregulatoryconsent and without interruption to the customersproduction activities.
The job will involve working on astandby rota for responding to plant alarms and processmonitoringout of normal working hours andweekends.
Full process training will be providedto the Technician but it is expected that the candidate willalreadyhave demonstrable experience in operating and maintainingindustrialequipment.
JobDescription:
* Workwithin the client and NSI HSE systems.
Visible ownershipon HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation andwithin NSI.
Procure external supplies /services.
Promptly raise any issues which could affectboth the client and NSI.
Establish and maintainprofessional relationships with customer personnel NSI colleagues
and subcontractor staff.
Proactively managingexternal relationships with the client subcontractors andregulators
(if required).
Innovate in theworkplace to bring improvement and opportunity.
Identifyfaults evaluate solutions and implement agreed actions.
Gather all systems information and complete plant logs tounderstand the function and
operation of the ETP on thesite.
Utilising plant information identify any changes insystem performance and/or potential
operational problems.Make recommendations to return plant to its optimumcondition.
Maintain good housekeepingpractices.
To work unsupervised with a proactiveattitude.
Develop good team working behaviours with theclient and other NSI staff.
Undergo training asrequired.
Identify training needs to the OperationsManager.
Qualifications:
RequiredSkills/Qualifications (Essential):
NVQLevel 2 (Process Operations) or equivalent. Optionally thecandidate can demonstrate
at least 3 years experience inoperating and maintaining process equipment in an industrial
environnement.
Computer Literacy
Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs andmaintenance
A working knowledge of runningelectromechanical plant
RequiredSkills/Qualifications (Desirable):
Experienceof working directly with subcontractors
Demonstratethrough experience an ability to interpret technical information& make
changes on industrial plant
Operational knowledge of wastewater treatment plant
Demonstrate the ability to work within a quality system
Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment plants
Training in Environmental Health and Safety
