Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. The role will be worked on a full-time schedule from office. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £39,950 - £54,050 per annum depending on experience.

As Accountant, the successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the accurate and transparent management of financial resources. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, and generating reports to support the organization's mission. The Accountant will ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards while providing insights to optimize resource allocation for various programs and initiatives. By effectively managing the charity's finances, the Accountant plays a crucial role in fostering trust and accountability with stakeholders, donors, and the community.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Accountant:
* Financial Reporting Accuracy: Percentage of financial reports completed without errors or discrepancies.
* Budget Adherence: Percentage of programs and initiatives operating within the approved budget.
* Timeliness of Reporting: Percentage of financial reports and statements submitted by deadlines.
* Compliance Rate: Number of compliance violations or issues identified during audits or reviews.
* Donor Fund Utilisation: Percentage of donor funds allocated and spent in accordance with donor agreements.
* Cost Efficiency: Ratio of administrative costs to total expenses, indicating effective use of funds.
* Cash Flow Management: Frequency of cash flow forecasts meeting actual cash flow outcomes.
What we’re looking for in our Accountant:
* Education: Educated in a Finance discipline with an Accounting Qualification (AAT; ACCA; CIMA) or a relevant Degree or Qualified by Experience.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
* Computer Skills: MS Office Suite; Accounts Systems.
* Required Language: English essential, additional languages are a bonus.
* Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector.
