We are currently seeking an Asphalt Development Technician to join our team.
As an Asphalt Development Technician, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively assisting in the Design, Development, and Innovation for Bituminous and Asphalt Materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. To carry out material designs and performance testing on asphalt products for internal and external stakeholders.
2. To conduct performance testing on materials and identify areas for improvement.
3. To liaise with clients on requirements for the material designs.
4. Coordination of work schedules to ensure maximum efficiency.
5. Weekly reporting on tasks to Technical Management.
6. To assist with general laboratory duties when required.
7. To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory.
8. To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
9. To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
10. To calibrate all testing equipment.
11. To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies.
12. To undertake daily laboratory equipment checks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. Sound understanding of asphalt materials and asphalt production/installation techniques.
2. Willingness to be flexible in your working pattern.
3. Physical ability to carry out sampling and handling of bulky materials.
4. Capacity to operate mechanical equipment such as an asphalt road coring drill.
5. Hold a full driving licence and be capable of operating a small-sized commercial van.
6. Enjoy interactions with internal customers, external contributors, and auditors.
7. Tolerance for and ability to handle the administration of paperwork.
8. Planning, organising, and problem-solving attitude.
9. Ability to work on your own initiative.
