Description
Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training, ensuring employees are fully aware and trained on all required health and social care training in accordance with company and regulatory expectations.
Esland offers a blended learning approach, as a Learning & Development Partner you are expected to support the whole ethos of a blended learning approach and be involved in its design.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work as part of the wider people and culture team in the design and delivery of health and social care training to employees.
2. Ensure that all training events run smoothly by:
1. Being organised, timely and well presented.
2. Arranging the course administration in advance.
3. Ensuring all equipment and materials are available for training and in good working order; materials are those agreed by the group and standardised.
3. Manage any required assessment of training that is delivered, producing reports and recommendations to the Head of Learning & Development.
4. Manage the evaluation of all training that is delivered, producing reports and recommendations, and sending to the Head of Learning & Development.
5. Maintain accurate and up to date records of all courses delivered using the HR and Training systems.
6. Liaise with the services to ensure effective communication to meet the current and changing needs of the provision.
7. Keep abreast of all pending new legislation and registration requirements on behalf of the company.
8. Undertake an area of Subject Matter Expertise (SME). Research updates and development in this subject specialism and cascade to all relevant parties. Work alongside external agencies to ensure safe practice is adhered to.
9. Adhere to health and safety compliance and maintain the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and conduct throughout all training activities.
10. Ensure the Company’s commitment to equality and opportunity in the service provision and employment practices are reinforced through the design and delivery of all learning and development.
11. Ensure Esland’s values are reinforced in all learning activities.
12. Train and develop colleagues and managers on Train the Trainer workshops, in order for them to deliver training courses within the standardised approach necessary for quality assurance.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. Understanding of good practice, current legislation and policy trends in Children’s Health and Social Care.
2. Understanding of the mandatory subjects.
3. Understanding of a range of approaches to learning activities.
4. Understanding of theory and best practice in learning and development.
5. Understanding of a range of qualifications (including RQF’s) within the Health and Social Care sector.
6. Good understanding of how to use and develop learning management systems (LMS).
7. Training/teaching qualification.
8. Good numeracy and literacy skills.
9. Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
10. Previous experience as a trainer in Children’s Health and Social Care.
11. Experience of managing and allocating resources.
12. Administrative experience e.g., report and letter writing, keeping electronic/paper records organisation, etc.
13. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of people in various settings, e.g., one-to-one, presentations, written work, etc.
14. Flexible approach to changing circumstances with willingness to take on new tasks and experiences.
15. Keen to learn and to continue with own personal development by attending training and reviewing feedback.
