As our Grounds Team Leader you'll be in charge of planning daily tasks, overseeing the teams performance and making sure our outdoor spaces and welcoming for all. So it won't be just about charming plants into growing, you'll be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients and be able to prioritise tasks, manage schedules, and meet deadlines. To excel in this role you'll have experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. You must have a full valid driver’s license for operating company vehicles or equipment and certifications in landscaping, PA1/PA6, or first aid are a plus. And what will you be doing? No two days are the same but the below gives you a flavour for some of the tasks you’d typically be involved with. Even if you can’t tick everything off from the list below but think you’ve got what it takes, we’d be keen for you to apply: Team Supervision: • Lead, train, and motivate the grounds maintenance team to meet performance and quality standards. • Assign tasks and ensure timely completion of all duties, including landscaping, waste management, and equipment maintenance. • Monitor team performance, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues promptly. Grounds Maintenance: • Ensure the upkeep of lawns, gardens, pathways, and outdoor structures. • Oversee seasonal planting, weeding and hedge maintenance. • Inspect grounds regularly to identify areas needing improvement or repair. Equipment and Safety: • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment. • Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. • Address and resolve safety hazards or incidents immediately. Planning and Coordination: • Develop and execute maintenance schedules, considering weather conditions and seasonal needs. • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to plan larger landscaping or renovation projects. • Maintain an inventory of supplies and requisition materials as needed. Customer Service: • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, addressing any concerns related to the grounds. • Ensure that outdoor spaces meet the aesthetic and functional needs of the organization.
