About Us:
Veritas are recruiting on behalf of an inclusive partner school in Burnley, who dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for all of our students. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their individual needs. We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate teacher to join the team on a temporary basis, working with a small group of children in Key Stage 2 who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Role:
As a Temporary LKS2 SEN Teacher, you will be leading a small group of children with SEN in a breakout room, away from the main class. You will create and deliver tailored lessons to support their learning and emotional needs, helping them make progress in a safe, nurturing environment. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to ensure that the students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are followed and that the children receive the best possible support.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a small group of LKS2 children with a variety of SEN needs, delivering bespoke lessons in a breakout room setting.
Develop and implement individualised learning plans (IEPs) that meet the specific needs of each child.
Provide a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment that encourages engagement and progress.
Collaborate with the SENCO, class teachers, and support staff to track the children's progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Monitor and assess the students' progress, providing feedback to parents and staff.
Support the emotional and social development of the children, promoting self-esteem and confidence.The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within an LKS2 setting.
Knowledge of SEN codes of practice and a passion for inclusive education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with additional needs.
