Job Description: Assistant Reliability Engineer (ICA supporting)

Location: Hybrid working with a notional base at Buttershaw in Bradford, although we have many offices around Yorkshire.
Work Type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Due to internal progression, we are currently seeking an ICA (instrumentation, control & automation) Assistant Reliability Engineer to join the Strategic Maintenance Planning Team (SMP Team) at Yorkshire Water.
What We Do: We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, ensuring clean and safe drinking water and proper wastewater management. The SMP Team is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Purpose of the Role:
1. To optimise asset reliability.
2. To develop engineering maintenance standards and technical practices.
3. To develop reliability performance monitoring and asset integrity management.
4. To provide medium to long term engineering support within the discipline of expertise.
Where You Fit In: As our Assistant Reliability Engineer (ICA biased), you will:
1. Provide technical support to the ICA Reliability Engineer within the Strategic Maintenance Planning Team in the way of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations following incidents and failures of process equipment and assets.
2. Update, expand and utilise the Equipment Maintenance List and Equipment Standards documents.
3. Undertake site surveys across Yorkshire for ICA data collection and audits.
4. Undertake analysis of ICA asset criticality and failure modes through FMEA studies.
5. Analyse existing ICA maintenance plans and quantify shortfalls & improvements.
6. Support the ICA Reliability Engineer in providing the ICA technical knowledge and expertise to non-technical colleagues.
7. Identify ICA legislative, regulatory, safety, customer service, environmental, performance and cost impact of asset failure.
This is seen as a progression role position where the ideal candidate would become a Reliability Engineer within the SMP Team.
What Skills & Qualifications You Will Need:
1. A degree / HNC in an ICA engineering discipline.
2. ICA background / comprehensive understanding.
3. Great understanding of applying RCM techniques (FMEA / RBM).
4. Ability to transfer policy into standards, procedures, process, plans, and guidance.
5. A practical working knowledge of ICA asset design and ICA installations.
6. An analytical approach to identifying problems and solutions.
7. Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
