An exciting opportunity to join a new Enhanced Care Service at Medway Hospital. The role would suit a Clinical Support Worker who has experience of working with people who may have mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, dementia or delirium.
This role would also be suitable for someone with experience of co-ordinating therapeutic activities for individual or groups of patients.
You will work as a member of the Enhanced Care Team under the supervision and guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialists and will provide Enhanced Care supervision to patients who have been assessed as needing additional support. This involves engaging the patient in meaningful activities, providing stimulation and building positive therapeutic relationships to reduce the risk of harm and ensure that their physical, emotional and psychological needs are met.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holders will be expected to provide support and assistance to professionals in the implementation of care plans for individual patients.
As a Clinical Support Worker, you will ensure patients receive a high quality of clinical care and a good patient experience. We have a management team that is both innovative and proactive in ensuring that high quality care is delivered to our patients.
Care Certificate Programme to be completed over a specified 6 months period, if not obtained prior to commencement.

Job responsibilities
Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care. Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
To ensure patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.
Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals.
To act as an advocate for patients within the ward/department, to ensure a patient-oriented approach to the delivery of care.
Working alongside other Therapeutic Practitioners to develop and deliver activity sessions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of a general education e.g. GCSE's or equivalent
* NVQ II in Healthcare / QCF Diploma in Health Level 2 or equivalent qualification in the area of specialty (e.g. Operating Theatre Practice for posts in theatre) or an equivalent level of working experience within a similar role
Knowledge
* Understanding of the importance of providing person-centred care
* Understanding of mental health issues
* Basic understanding of Mental Health Act / Mental Capacity Act
Experience
* Experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting
* Customer care experience
* Commitment to working in partnership with patients/carers
* Experience of facilitating/coordinating activities
* Mental Health experience
