The Bramford and Somersham Federation is proud to have two schools rated as Good. We are inclusive schools where our pupils come first and diversity is celebrated. Both schools deliver an educational experience based on our ACE values – Aspiration and Combined Excellence for everyone –together we are ACE!. At Bramford, Christian values are actively promoted and the school has close links with the Church of St Mary the Virgin.
We believe in delivering a curriculum that is broad, providing both personalised and creative content that provides pupils with opportunities to learn in different ways. We are keen to continue pursuing new, fun and innovative ways to help our pupils to love learning and enjoy their time at school.
We want our new Executive Headteacher to be passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for our pupils, including the aspiration of Governors to attain an outstanding rating. They will care about the whole school communities: pupils, parents, and carers and will value our staff and the important contributions they make. They will be ambitious for the schools but welcoming, friendly, have a sense of humour and be visible to parents and the village communities.
Both schools offer:
• a friendly and supportive ethos which celebrates the inclusive nature of our federation and is embraced by our staff and pupils
• enthusiastic and inquisitive pupils who enjoy learning and display good behaviour
• a hardworking, knowledgeable and dedicated staff team
• parents who support the school and have a key role in developing and maintaining our school community through the Home School Association (for Bramford) and Friends of Somersham School activities
• two different but exceptional school environments, both inside and out, with good quality resources and excellent facilities
• an effective, cohesive governing body, who positively support both schools
• high standards of teaching and learning.
We are looking for someone who:
• has had a significant measurable impact on the outcomes and progress of pupil’s achievement and personal development
• has a proven track record in school leadership and staff development with experience of performance management
• will be proactive in their strategic management and leadership skills to fit into the forward-looking leadership team already in place
• will manage challenging situations robustly and with empathy and kindness
• will provide a safe and supportive learning environment for pupils and staff
• will continually strive to develop effective and strong partnerships between home and school and the Church.
