Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Environmental Health Officer for our client local government organisation based in Southampton.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of professional environmental health service through the provision of expert advice and regulatory action.
This is a 3 month starting contract with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working is available.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
1. Undertake surveys, investigations and research; carry out inspections; keep records; prepare reports and legal notices, schedules and correspondence; and take appropriate action including enforcement action as may be necessary to deliver the environmental health service.
2. Inspect plans, investigate and consider any development proposals in relation to the environmental health service’s functions and responsibilities, giving advice, making recommendations and taking appropriate action.
3. Provide expert advice to businesses and individuals to support compliance with environmental health legislation.
4. Remain aware of environmental health legislative and policy developments (including Council policy related to the duties and responsibilities of the post, in accordance with the principles of continuous professional development and participate in any relevant training as required.
