* Liaising with treasury on VAT forecasting to ensure the timely and accurate payment of liabilities/timely allocation of VAT refunds.
* Assisting in the review and improvement, with the finance transformation team, of the end-to-end VAT process from invoice to return and managing the implementation of identified changes.
* Assisting with making our Oracle ERP system compliant with local VAT/sales tax laws in a more efficient way.
* Ensuring that VAT issues identified as part of tax authority audits are resolved.
* Assisting with requests for advice from the business in both the UK and overseas.
* Providing support and training to non-accountants within the business on VAT and CIS requirements, and to those involved in processing purchase and sales invoices.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of VAT accounting and control checks, including balance sheet VAT reconciliations.
* Up-to-date knowledge of Indirect tax rules both in the UK and overseas, and demonstrable technical competence in areas relevant to the role.
* Degree-level accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA), tax qualification (ATT/CTA), or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience with Oracle is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; the ideal candidate will enjoy using their initiative.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Solid experience within the construction industry and around supplies connected with immovable property is desirable but not essential.

We are also open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.
