Description:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cowes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in heat transfer principles, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, and proven experience in designing and testing thermal systems for electronic components and assemblies.
Key responsibilities include conducting peer reviews and verifying tasks, identifying and resolving product lifecycle issues, establishing and managing qualification requirements during build, test, and commissioning, and serving as subject matter expert, coaching and mentoring team members.
The role involves collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to optimise thermal design of radar components, leading development and validation of thermal models to predict performance under varied conditions.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mechanical Engineering Radar team at BAE Systems Naval Radar, which provides Radar products and support services to a diverse range of customers worldwide.
The role will provide engineering management support as part of a team delivering capability upgrades to the Royal Navy over the next 10 years. Salary:
The salary for this position is circa £55,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
