We have vacancies for Cleansing Operatives. No previous experience is required.
The teams that collect our waste and recycling from the side of the road, to send it on its way to be sorted and recycled into new products or turned into electricity, are the first line of defence in the battle to protect our local and global environment. If our teams stopped collecting for just 1 week, four thousand tonnes of waste would be left on the streets of our beautiful Dorset.

This is an outdoor based role.
1. Undertake duties relating to the manual sweeping, collection and removal of litter, dirt and debris, emptying of litter bins and, if specified, emptying Dog bins.
1. May be required to carry out the cleaning of public toilets. To carry out any small repairs or maintenance issues, including removal of small blockages, if specified
3. The removal of graffiti, when required
4 The collection of Fly-tips
2. Road sweeping duties using mechanical or non mechanical means.
3. Complete daily paperwork as required
4. To comply fully with Health and Safety guideline, ensuring safe working practices.
5. Any other reasonable and comparable duties as required.
In addition to the above at Level 2
6. Required as part of daily duties to drive and be responsible for Council vehicles below 3.5t
7. Responsible for daily vehicle checks, ensuring the vehicle is mechanically operational and roadworthy. Completion of relevant statutory paperwork.
You will work 37 hours per week on a rota basis, to cover early mornings and some weekends and bank holiday working. Opportunity to work overtime is available.
