Chemical Process Engineer Chesterfield, UK Permanent Staff An EPC Company specializing in turnkey process plants for the Aluminium Industry is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join our Chesterfield office. This role requires a Chemical Engineering degree and at least three years of industryexperience. Key responsibilities include applying mass and energy balances, performing pressure drop calculations, developing P&IDs, and writing scopes of work for vendors and contractors. Key Responsibilities: Apply mass and energy balances in industrial or process design roles Perform pressure drop calculations and select appropriate pumps or fans Execute sizing calculations for heat transfer equipment Involvement in projects or plants with powder handling equipment Map processes and construct process flow diagrams Develop P&IDs and layout sketches Write scopes of work for equipment vendors and plant installation contractors Interface with control systems by defining interlock schedules and specifying logic for sequence operations Attend Hazard Studies, including HazOps, and use a Management of Change system to document process engineering modifications Define the sequence of operations in a plant or process and write Standard Operating Procedures Carry out risk assessments Use a structured approach to solve complex problems Display excellent communication skills Desirable Qualifications: Experience with solid-liquid separation technology Previous plant commissioning experience Other Requirements: Valid Driving Licence and Passport Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites and suppliers Opportunity for 2-month commissioning periods in international locations from year 2 onwards Benefits: Competitive salary Hybrid working (Fridays from home) Half a day on Fridays Opportunity for international travel (paid by the company) 5% pension contribution by company 25 days holiday per year Who we are: First Recruitment Group are committed to finding the right candidates for our clients, and the right companies for our candidates to work for.
