Future Teachers Programme – Graduate Teacher Internship
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for teaching? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Graduate Scheme is the perfect opportunity to gain practical experience in a secondary school before embarking on your formal teacher training journey.
This 12-month paid internship is designed for graduates who are considering a career in secondary education and want to develop their skills and confidence in the classroom.
Programme Overview:
* Start Date: September 2025
* Location: Secondary schools across Greater Manchester (including Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham)
* Eligibility: Open to graduates with degrees in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, or Languages who aim to pursue a teaching career.
What You’ll Do:
As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you’ll take on the role of a Teaching Assistant, working full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:15am–3:00pm). Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting students in your subject area to improve their understanding and achievement.
* Assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and classroom management.
* Leading small group sessions and providing one-on-one tuition.
* Covering classes and gaining valuable insight into the responsibilities of a teacher.
This experience is an excellent way to develop your teaching skills and deepen your knowledge, ensuring you’re well-prepared for formal teacher training.
