With a strong reputation for excellence, they are expanding their team and looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial operations and ensure projects are delivered efficiently on time, and within budget.
Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of fire safety installation projects. You will be responsible for cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting, ensuring all projects are commercially successful. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of cost control, contract negotiation, and risk management within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for fire safety installation projects.
Manage project cost control, monitoring expenditure and ensuring projects remain within budget.
Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to support project decision-making.
Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements to secure favourable terms.
Manage procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations.
Administer contract variations, valuations, and change orders, ensuring accurate cost tracking.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Prepare and submit applications for payment, progress reports, and final accounts.
Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and health & safety regulations.
Identify and manage commercial risks and disputes, providing recommendations to mitigate financial impact.Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction, M&E, or fire safety sector.
Strong knowledge of contract law, JCT/NEC contracts, and procurement processes.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in cost estimating, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, financial software, and project management tools.
Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).What's in it for You?
