An exciting vacancy for an Assistant Psychologist has become available in the North Wales Adolescent Service (NWAS). NWAS supports young people in North Wales, between the ages of 12-18, who need specialist mental health support at Tier 4 level.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours) Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join the NWAS multi-disciplinary team. Close support and regular clinical supervision would be provided by a Clinical Psychologist. This post involves supporting the Clinical Psychologist to provide assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for the young people at NWAS. This role also involves working closely with the MDT to support indirect interventions for young people with complex difficulties who can struggle to engage directly. Additional aspects of this role will involve supporting the Clinical Psychologist with audit, research and training activities. This role sits within the Central Child Psychology Team which meets regularly to provide peer support and development opportunities. The successful candidate will be closely supported in their career development, including with training opportunities.

Essential criteria
* Good Honours Degree in Psychology
* Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Some knowledge and understanding of the client group with whom the post holder will be working.
* Undergraduate level knowledge of psychology including some knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology and models of psychopathology.
* Undergraduate level knowledge of research design and methodology.
Desirable criteria
* Attendance at skills development courses or training.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with clients within a clinical, social care or educational setting.
* Experience of undertaking therapeutic work or involvement in developmental assessments.
