As our Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our building and grounds are kept in excellent condition, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school. The Role As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of the school’s buildings, facilities, and equipment. Carrying out minor repairs, improvements, and general upkeep, ensuring a safe environment for students and staff. Managing the school’s heating, lighting, and plumbing systems, identifying and resolving any issues. Supporting the setup of classrooms and events, including moving furniture and equipment as needed. Monitoring and managing health and safety compliance, including fire safety and security systems. Liaising with external contractors for larger maintenance projects. Ensuring the school grounds, including playgrounds and outdoor spaces, are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or general DIY. A proactive and solution-focused approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). Excellent organizational and time-management skills. A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children and staff. Flexibility to respond to emergencies and occasional out-of-hours work.
