About the role: Reporting to the CFO you will be joining an award-winning business at an exciting time of our evolution as we continue to strengthen the part that the finance function plays to support significant business growth. As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the financial operations of the business. Underpinning this will be ensuring that a strong controls environment exists to help a business grow in both size and complexity. You will be a key member of the finance team establishing and maintaining excellent internal and external relationships including Banking, Insurance and Audit. Central to this will be the support and development of the existing finance team. Working closely with the CFO and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and, in collaboration with the Financial Controller, ensure timely and appropriate reporting of performance and meticulous planning of working capital resources. You will also be working cross-functionally within the business to ensure that finance truly adds value and can support an agile, complex business. What you’ll be responsible for: With a mindset for continuous improvement, leading on the development and evolution of the finance function to deliver a first class service to support existing and new propositions which allows the business to scale efficiently. In particular, that core financial operations (particularly Customer billing and Carer payments) can meet business requirements. Enhancing and building robust financial processes and controls, ensuring strong financial governance but with a sensible commercial to ensure they do not inappropriately inhibit business operations Working closely with the CFO and Head of FP&A to optimise working capital usage and ensure robust cash planning and management. Manage working capital processes (P2P and O2C) with a particular focus on making collections more efficient and reducing the levels of aged debt Own the balance sheet ensuring appropriate reconciliations and controls on key accounts while overseeing financial reporting and working with the Financial Controller to deliver timely and appropriate financial information and developing the management packs to provide rich business insight Day-to-day management of the finance function with a focus on continuous improvement, developing the team and improving the efficiency of finance operations Working cross-functionally with others within the business to ensure alignment of goals and objectives while also being the finance lead on business-wide projects (such as the implementation of / improvements to billing system) Oversee the annual R&D tax credit process run by the Financial Controller to enable a successful claim Lead and own the external relationships with regards to Banking, Audit, Insurance, 3rd party processing providers, payroll and share options Support the business, the Head of FP&A and Financial Controller to help build the annual financial budget, update company forecasts and ensure appropriate communications to the business and controls on budgeted spend. Also working closely with the CFO and head of FP&A to ensure accurate forecasting of working capital requirements including short and medium/long term Cash Flow modelling and controls Compliance with monthly shareholder reporting requirements Assist with operation of share option schemes and company secretarial duties. Need to have: A qualified accountant with a strong technical knowledge, especially regarding statutory audit, internal controls and process implementation Experience within a changing / scale up business environment where finance needs to evolve to align with business needs Best practice financial experience, combined with the ability to work autonomously in a hands-on fashion Experience in implementing positive change A commercial mindset to problem solving; identifying opportunities for efficiencies and/or cost savings and understanding where a “quick fix” is appropriate Strong management and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines High level of proficiency in MS Excel Professional, pragmatic and confident within a senior role, ability to collaborate and challenge cross-functionally and be the voice of finance within the business Proven experience of presenting (verbal and written) financial information at a senior level Ability to communicate with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and ability to communicate and work collaboratively with non-finance colleagues and with employees at all levels Excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to analyse numbers quickly and accurately and communicate them easily to non-finance colleagues Benefits: Competitive salary 25 days holiday bank holidays (1 extra day of holiday per year worked for the first 5 years) (pro rata) 6 weeks work from anywhere in the world Dental, optical and health insurance Hybrid working (2 days per week in our London office, Wednesday & Thursday) Annual learning allowance Sponsored quarterly team and company socials Mentoring and coaching support to help you achieve your personal and career goals Macbook any particular extras you require Cycle-to-work scheme Apply today.
