Head of Operations
Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to lead, motivate, and support a large team in a fast-paced and demanding environment. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the Magnet Technology product portfolio to meet customer requirements with the highest standards of quality and cost efficiency. You will work across all manufacturing areas within Supply Chain Management, driving operational excellence and striving for world-class manufacturing status. By leading continuous improvement initiatives and eliminating waste, you will play a crucial role in maximising profitability and ensuring the ongoing success of the existing site in Eynsham, Oxford and our new 4.0 production facility based in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to shape strategic plans, identify business opportunities, and develop innovative strategies for long-term success, ensuring alignment with the Operations team.
Develop and manage financial budgets to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, profit, and cost of quality, driving financial and operational performance.
Build a high-performance culture by promoting ownership, accountability, and adherence to safety (EHS) and operational excellence, ensuring the team's objectives align with overarching strategic themes.
Ensure workforce planning meets customer demands by optimising labour resource capacity and implementing robust training programs to support current and future production needs.
Evolve the manufacturing facility in line with long-term strategies and new product requirements, maintaining flexibility and adaptability in operations.
Champion a world-class Quality culture by upholding stringent quality standards, resolving manufacturing challenges, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead initiatives to drive Lean manufacturing principles and best practices, fostering efficiency, waste reduction, and the pursuit of operational excellence.
Develop, maintain, and utilise scorecards and KPIs to monitor performance, support decision-making, and drive improvement across all operational areas.
Your qualifications and experience:
A role model in clear, logical communication at all organisational levels, capable of leading discussions, presenting structured arguments, and fostering open dialogue.
Advanced expertise in Lean principles, Statistical Process Control (SPC), 8D problem-solving, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM), with the ability to implement and facilitate these tools effectively.
Skilled in using standard business and manufacturing software, such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP), project management tools (e.g., MS Project), and workforce modelling platforms.
Proficient in methodologies like Value Stream Mapping, Strategic Goal Alignment (Hoshin Kanri), Structured Problem Solving, and Agile Visual Management to enhance operational efficiency.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and products across multiple departments, with the ability to connect workflows to operational goals.
Education
• Degree or equivalent experience in relevant Operations, Business Management, Supply Chain Management subject
• Proven experience in a Senior Operations Management position
