On behalf of our Mildenhall based client, we are looking for a QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR to join their successful and expanding team.

As the Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for the following:
Ensuring that all in-process manufacturing inspections are carried out in accordance with procedures, control plans, measurement history sheets and quality in action specifications/requirements.
You will ensure that results are properly recorded, reported and analysed accordingly.
For training out all inspection requirements consistently across all teams and shifts.
Responsible for Patrolled Checks, spot checks and random training inspections.
Introducing and maintaining continuous improvement activities and improvements to all inspection activities.
Your main duties will include:
You will be liaising with Line Managers and Assembly Operators to ensure quality issues are addressed within the many manufacturing areas to avoid high reject rates and resultant scrap.
You will be supporting the Operators for end of line inspections and training operators accordingly
Carry out inspection of manufactured components to ensure final assemblies are completed to the required specification
Complete and take responsibility for the accurate recording of non-conforming parts
To complete any process documentation as is required, in line with the build instructions taking ownership and accountability of this process
Documenting and escalate quality issues to ensure a quality product is produced for end user
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives/projects to improve product quality
Ensure high standards of housekeeping and hygiene are always maintained in line with 5S principles
Questioning the nature of defects while providing future solutions
Alerting the Quality Assurance department of ongoing problems and delivering resolutions
Filling out and maintaining proper paperwork
Complying with any and all standards, internal policies and legal regulations that apply to the finished products
Comparing finished products to original specifications
Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications through meticulous examination and precise measurement tools
Perform durability, functionality, and safety tests to validate product quality and performance using standardised methods
Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control
Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors/QA and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and training:
Exercise substantial initiative/judgement in work methods and interpreting goals
Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of management
Knowledge of quality systems and measurement/calibration systems and equipment
Lean Manufacturing knowledge
Knowledge of ISO9001
Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices
Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualification
Previous experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably complex and precision components
Experience of working in Quality Assurance
Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
Quality Control Inspector background with at least 3 years experience in ISO 9001 QMS
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 42.5 hours/wk and the pay rate is £14.00 - £15.00 per hour, dependant upon experience. This position is offered on a temp to perm basis.
