Vista is an independent, local charity providing information, support and care to people affected by sight loss who live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We have been doing so for over 180 years and are working hard to make sure we will do so for the future too.
You will be required to work up to 15 hours per week, Monday and Friday. There may be additional hours to meet the needs of the service such as covering annual leave or sickness.
In this role you will:
1. Carry out support as required by the client, assisting people to access their community for appointments, shopping or activities.
2. Work with people within their own homes or assist them to travel to agreed destinations.
3. Support the individual to access their own community, ensuring that the person’s choice is exercised fully.
Experience of working with visually impaired people, older people or those with disabilities is required, as well as proven verbal and written communication skills.
In return, we offer a competitive salary, staff benefits scheme, flexibility, and opportunities for professional and personal development in one of the largest local charities and a leading organization in the sight loss sector.
We welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of any protected characteristic, and are an equal opportunity employer.
All candidates will be treated equally, and we will base decisions on appointments on the merits of the candidates.
