Learning Support Assistant
Location: Redcar, UK
Salary: £425- £500 a week, dependent on experience
Start Date: April 2025
Are you passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to succeed in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Individual & Group Learning: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, assisting them in both one-on-one and small group settings.
* Classroom Assistance: Help teachers with classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and able to participate fully in lessons.
* SEN Focused Support: Work with students who require extra help to access the curriculum, adjusting resources and strategies to meet their specific needs.
* Encouragement of Positive Behaviour: Support students in developing positive behaviour strategies, helping them stay focused and motivated.
* Track and Monitor Progress: Assist in monitoring students' academic progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting any adjustments to their learning plans.
* Foster Independence: Encourage students to work independently, helping them build self-confidence and develop important life skills.
* Collaborative Working: Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to ensure the effective implementation of learning plans and interventions.
About You:
* A passion for supporting students with a variety of learning needs and a commitment to their success.
* Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A willingness to learn and develop your skills further.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not required.
