Description Job Description Do you want to improve the health of women and girls in Scotland? As part of the Women's Health Team, in the CMO Policy Division, this Senior Policy Manager post is central to the delivery of menopause health policy in the Health DG. The Women's Health Plan Team leads work on menopause, gynaecology, endometriosis, menstrual health, programme management of the current Women's Health Plan and development of the next phase. The post is responsible for health policy on Menopause, driving development and delivery of policy, working with the Women’s Health Champion, the Women’s Health Leads, the Menopause Leads and numerous other stakeholders including women themselves. As part of a busy team in a high profile health policy area, the Senior Policy Manager will also be expected to work across the other policy areas led by the Women’s Health Plan team when necessary, as well as work to coordinate the delivery of the Women’s Health Plan across numerous policy teams and through the provision of high quality support for Ministers and for the Women’s Health Champion. Responsibilities • Lead the delivery of menopause policy in the Health DG, working with the Women’s Health Champion, the Women’s Health Plan team and other internal and external partners to; - deliver the menopause actions and related menopause policy delivery in the Women’s Health Plan, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to progress - lead the development of menopause policy for the second phase of the Women’s Health Plan. • Work closely with stakeholders, building productive relationships with key Scottish Government and external partners to achieve high quality, cross policy and cross Scotland delivery on menopause. • Keep abreast of research and evidence developments and media interest in relation to menopause. • Responsibility for provision of high quality briefing and advice to Ministers etc on menopause, often at short notice, and responses on behalf of the team to PQs, Ministerial correspondence, FMQs, speeches etc. • As part of the co-ordination and delivery of the Plan, provide senior policy expertise to the other policy responsibilities of the Women’s Health Plan Team, when required. • Provide leadership and support as required, including line management of the Women’s Health Champion Support Officer. • The women’s health plan team do operate on a hybrid basis, but we do ask that team members come into the office in St Andrew’s House where the team is based at least once a week to ensure effective team building and in person engagement, including with the Women’s Health Champion.
