Ede Scott's client is currently seeking Investment Operation Professional with a strong background in client order management. Our client is seeking a highly skilled individual to join a leading Financial Services firm in Edinburgh on a fixed-term contract until February 2026.
This role sits within the Investment Operations team, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end client order management process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant trade execution across multiple asset classes and markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and support the end-to-end processing of client orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
* Act as the primary contact for client order queries, ensuring timely responses and resolution of issues.
* Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to ensure seamless trade execution.
* Monitor trade lifecycles from order placement to settlement, addressing any trade breaks or exceptions.
* Ensure adherence to best execution policies and regulatory guidelines across all asset classes.
* Implement and maintain robust operational controls to mitigate risks associated with order management and trade processing.
* Conduct trade reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and liaise with internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
* Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Support ongoing system enhancements and contribute to the development of order management frameworks.
* Ensure full compliance with MiFID II, FCA, and other relevant investment regulations.
* Work with compliance and risk teams to monitor and improve governance frameworks for order execution.
* Provide input into internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and reporting meet regulatory standards.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, custodians, brokers, and third-party vendors to ensure efficient trade execution.
Person Specification
* 3 years' experience in investment operations, client order management, or trade support within asset management or a similar financial institution.
* Strong understanding of order management systems (OMS) and trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes.
* Experience in trade execution, settlement processes, and reconciliation.
* Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, FCA guidelines, and best execution policies.
* Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analytics tools is advantageous.
* Proven experience in managing operational risk and control frameworks within order management.
