We are on the lookout for a highly motivated Legal and Compliance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a graduate who has 1-2 years’ experience in financial services/capital markets, with a sound understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape in which ATFX Connect operates, as well as a proven track record of providing effective legal and regulatory advice to a variety of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be joining a fast-growing company with a dynamic and vibrant working environment and will need a positive attitude with a desire to get involved with a broad range of matters.
The individual is responsible for:
1. Assisting the Head of Legal and Compliance and other members of the Global team in all legal and compliance matters, including the provision of legal and regulatory guidance to ATFX Connect key stakeholders on regulatory issues affecting ATFX Connect investment firms, ranging from compliance, governance, and risk management.
2. Assisting the Head of Legal and Compliance and other members of the team in legal matters, including investigations and enforcement proceedings.
3. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and other departments, to provide legal and regulatory advice and support on various projects and initiatives.
4. Staying up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, and providing guidance on their impact on ATFX Connect's operations and business objectives, in particular those affecting ATFX Connect entities.
5. Assisting with the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
6. Reviewing and drafting legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments.
7. Key AML tasks including Transaction Monitoring and Analysis, preparing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory guidelines, KYC, and Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
Experience & Capabilities
Qualifications:
1. The ideal candidate will have completed a law degree (LLB or GDL), with at least 1 year’s experience working in a compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and/or legal capacity in financial services/capital markets. Exceptional graduates with strong academics in Law, Economics, or Finance will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Skills and knowledge:
1. Sound understanding of UK and EU financial services regulation, including EMIR and MiFID 2, as well as understanding of the UK and international financial crime regulatory frameworks.
2. Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness.
3. Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
4. Business proficiency in an additional language (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French) preferred but not a requisite.
5. Self-confident, proactive, pragmatic approach to tasks and projects.
6. Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated with a genuine interest in financial regulation.
7. The ability to work in a team and to interact and build relationships with people at all levels.
