Position: SEN Teaching Opportunities
Location: Torbay and surrounding areas
Contract: Full time, part-time and flexible work available
Salary: Starting at £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Here at Long-Term teachers, we are dedicated to matching passionate education professionals with rewards roles in special schools across Torbay and the surrounding areas. We are currently seeking enthusiastic educators to work with children who have a range of special educational needs (SEN), providing essential classroom support in the absence of regular teaching staff.
About the role:
We have opportunities to teach classes in the absence of the normal teacher. You do not necessarily require qualified teacher status to fulfil this role. However, you must be extremely confident in educating young people and managing the classroom, including dealing with challenging behaviour. You will supervise lessons, following the lesson plans set by the teacher, and provide guidance and support to students with varying needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PLMD, MLD and SLD.
Who we’re looking for:
* Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, in any capacity
* This role would be perfect for an experienced cover supervisor, a teaching assistant looking to progress or those who have undertaken a coaching/leadership role previously
* Ability to manage a classroom and ensure a productive learning environment
* A patient, calm and positive attitude with a passion for supporting young people
* Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and difficult situations
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in different settings
Why join us?
* Flexible working options to fit around your availability
* Opportunities for both short-term and long-term placements across a variety of SEN settings
* Supportive and dedicated consultant who you will be in regular contact with from the start
