Welsh Teacher - Primary School

Salary: M2 Scale £166.32 daily rate
Job Description
At Teaching Personnel we partner with a vibrant primary school in the heart of Ammanford, who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Welsh Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled educator to help promote Welsh language and culture within a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching Welsh, committed to fostering a love of the language among young learners, and able to deliver high-quality lessons that engage, inspire, and challenge students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess Welsh lessons for primary school students.
* Foster a love of the Welsh language and culture in all students.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
* Support the development of Welsh language skills across the curriculum.
* Work closely with parents, staff, and the wider school community to promote Welsh language learning.
* Ensure all pupils are challenged and supported according to their individual needs.
* Take part in extracurricular activities, including Welsh language events and celebrations.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to senior leadership as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Fluent in Welsh (both spoken and written) – Essential.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Welsh at the primary school level (or relevant experience in a similar role).
* Strong understanding of the Welsh curriculum and teaching practices.
* Excellent classroom management skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate children to develop their Welsh language skills.
* A positive, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
* Additional training or qualifications in special educational needs (SEN) or ALN.
* Ability to contribute to the wider life of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
