7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. A willingness to travel and network
9. Enthusiasm and commitment
Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Journal development and editorial management in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief and with support from the Publishing Director
2. Working with the full team of academic editors on journal initiatives
3. Management of in-house editorial and administrative team
4. Involvement in publishing projects and cross-journal initiatives
5. Content leadership, training and support for editorial staff working on the front section of the journal (commissioning, handling peer review and developmental editing)
6. Overseeing manuscript submission and supporting editorial decision-making, including publication integrity issues arising
7. Representation of the journal at international conferences and within the wider scientific and publishing communities
8. Editorial management of the Node community site
9. Working with our Events team on scientific meetings
