Managing Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor and Assistant Quantity Surveyor Roles

Our Client is one of the UK's leading providers of affordable mixed tenure homes working nationally. This top ten house builder produces a wide range of homes for first-time buyers, Housing Associations, and PRS across the Country offering all-inclusive specifications. All homes are built to exacting industry standards and undergo regular inspections by the NHBC to ensure quality of build and have a dedicated commitment to quality and service. Due to vast expansion, they are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, and Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their busy Commercial team.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the financial cost control and reporting of one or more developments from the Award up to and including completion of client and sub-contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material.
2. Ensure effective cash management and careful administration of subcontractor accounts.
3. At all times being aware of the need to cultivate longstanding relationships and promote dispute avoidance.
4. Must be able to swiftly identify any commercial threats to projects, ensuring this is fully communicated to the required team leader being QS, SQS, MQS or Commercial Director.
5. You will supervise and train Assistant and Trainee Surveyors, setting targets and allocating duties whilst maintaining quality.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Educated to a minimum of degree level in quantity surveying (or time-served).
2. Must have substantial relevant experience gained from within the construction industry on Build, Housing Associations, Developments, and Construction.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, you will have significant knowledge of measurement and valuation in addition to final accounts and sub-contract orders and buying.
4. Strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control, and cash management.
5. Be adept in preparing and understanding financial reports and will be comfortable utilising COINS.
