Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, and Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK. The Shunter Driver must ensure that all products are properly stored and that all customers orders are assembled and despatched to customers on time. The post holder must adhere to company policies and procedures as trained, in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.This role offers a 40 hour week in 4 working days - working Wednesday to Saturday with core hours of 09.00 - 19.00. Key Responsibilities Ensure the safe movement of large vehicles and trailers around a fast-moving food production site Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines Complete safety assessments Routine pre-operational inspection of vehicles and trailers as per schedule all faults to be reported immediately to maintenance Coupling and uncoupling of trailers Safe parking of trailers Manoeuvring laden and un-laden trailers in and out of loading bays Ensure handover procedures are undertaken effectively when passing goods on to other workers. Observe good housekeeping around the yard at all times Complete all documentations accurately and on-time Assist other drivers with parking and positioning Ensure the safety of personnel around moving vehicles Adhere to Company policies, i.e., Food Safety, Health & Safety, Absence, etc. Ensure that all vehicle movements comply with site safety regulations, minimising risks and maintaining smooth site operations. Undertake other reasonable duties as required Essential Criteria Minimum 6 months experience in similar shunter driving role Hold a valid shunter licence Desirable Criteria Have good practical knowledge of storage and distribution within a food-manufacturing environment Previous experience within a Despatch environment Experience of managing delivery to high end multiple retailers Skills: Driving Health & Safety Safe parking Documentation Benefits: Pension Subsidised canteen Health & wellbeing initiatives
