About The Role
As a People Administrator / Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our human resources department. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR administrative tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes, and providing excellent customer service to our employees. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR and wants to contribute to the success of a growing organisation.
Reporting to the People Advisor, you will:
1. Be the first point of contact for foundation level site People queries
2. Offer HR Expertise to site colleagues and managers as necessary
3. Provide administrative support to the HR team
4. Ensure payroll administration is accurate and all colleagues get paid correctly and on time
5. Maintain records, files and spreadsheets in line with data protection legislation
6. Keep ad-hoc analysis and reporting on HR issues up to date
7. Coordinate weekly HR audit checks
8. Support the recruitment process for the site as required
9. Become a subject matter expert on company HR policies, ensuring the site remains fully compliant at all times.
10. Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
11. Develop engaging, proactive communications across the site
12. Build positive and effective relationships with unions, agency suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
13. Support and drive colleague engagement on site

About You
The good news is you don't need to be fully HR qualified to apply for this role (although we'd love for you to be working towards one). But we do look for:
1. The ability to work in a fast paced People environment (manufacturing experience would be good, but isn't essential)
2. A proactive, positive approach to work with a true customer focus
3. The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
4. Exposure to HR Systems
5. Excellent all-round IT skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
6. Experience of advising and supporting colleagues and managers with foundation level people queries
7. An understanding of HR policies and practices
8. Proactive approach to own continuous development
9. Experience of implementing processes
10. The ability to act on own initiative
