Salary: G4 £25,183 - £27,269 full time equivalent, pro-rata (actual salary for 18.5 hours is £12,591 to £13,634)
Contract: Basic Hours Contract (18.5 Hours) plus extra hours depending on availability of work
Highways, Transport, and Operations are looking to recruit dedicated and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our Grounds Maintenance team.
Our teams operate across the entire Walsall borough, providing essential maintenance services for a wide range of green spaces. This includes grass cutting, weeding, hedge trimming, and leaf clearance across various Parks, District, and Countryside sites. Additionally, the role involves maintaining sports facilities and fine turf areas, including football pitches.
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring that our outdoor spaces are well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for the community to enjoy. You will be required to work outdoors in all seasons, maintaining the high standards expected across the borough.

Hours of Work:
A guarantee of 18.5 hours (2 days) per week with a possible maximum of 37 hours (4 days) dependent on the availability of work. Hours worked on top of the basic 18.5 are considered overtime and paid at standard rate up to the maximum of 37 hours.
Applicants are required to work in accordance with local arrangements across Operations. Annualised hour contract with annual leave commitments calculated in hours and issued pro-rata.
Our Teams start shift at 06:30 and end shift at 16:30 with a 45-minute break during the day.
