Overall Purpose of the Role: Due to continued expansion, Aptus Utilities is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Financial Administration Assistant to provide support to the Finance Department and/or Manager. Duties will be varied and challenging. Previous experience is desirable; however, full training will be provided. More important is attention to detail, an efficient and methodical approach with a flexible attitude.
What you will be doing:
1. Form part of a team with the financial administration staff
2. Process orders from Project Managers, following the approved order process procedures
3. Process invoices following approved procedures
4. Processing weekly payments when required
5. Complete month end transfers via Sage Job Costing
6. Carry out supplier statement reconciliations
7. Assist in the set-up of new suppliers and sub-contractors
8. Holiday cover posting subcontractor invoices
9. Holiday cover for Cash allocation
10. Ad hoc analysis and duties as directed by the team manager
11. Any other finance duties as required
What we ask from you:
1. Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills – GCSE grade 5-9 or equivalent in Maths and English
2. Working knowledge of computerised accounts system
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel – Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills
4. Good telephone manner
5. Ability to work within timescales and to deadlines
6. Efficient and methodical approach to time and task management
7. Knowledge of Sage Accounts 200 or similar accounting package
8. Knowledge of Sage Job Costing or knowledge of contract costing
