Salary: £27,744 Full Time Equivalent (£22,195.20 for 30 hours)

Hours: 30 hours per week including regular evenings and weekends
Responsible to: Community and Events Fundraising Lead
Accountable to: Head of Fundraising, Communications & Marketing
Overgate Hospice is an independent charity with a mission to ensure that patients and those close to them live with the best possible quality of life through the provision of compassionate and evidence-based specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in Calderdale.
Job Summary
As the Event Fundraiser, you will organise and manage major fundraising events, including the Colour Run, Midnight Walk, Annual Charity Ball, Sporting Dinner, and Ladies Luncheon. Your goal is to maximise fundraising while ensuring every event provides a fantastic experience for our supporters. You’ll handle everything from selecting venues and managing logistics to promoting the events and ensuring all safety measures are in place.
You will support smaller events, explore new fundraising ideas, and work with the Communications and Marketing Team to boost event promotion. By recruiting and managing volunteers, inspiring internal teams, and carefully recording all event processes, you’ll help improve our fundraising efforts and ensure successful events.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required
* At least 2 years’ experience in a fundraising or event management role.
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Plan and organise the annual Colour Run to maximise fundraising.
* Manage the Midnight Walk, overseeing logistics and participant engagement.
* Oversee the Annual Charity Ball, ensuring substantial fundraising and an enjoyable evening.
* Lead the Sporting Dinner organisation for high fundraising results.
* Plan and execute the Ladies Luncheon, collaborating with the volunteer organising committee.
* Ensure all events adhere to health and safety regulations.
* Explore new fundraising event ideas to increase income.
* Assist with smaller events to enhance overall fundraising impact.
* Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Team for effective promotional plans.
* Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for successful events.
* Conduct evaluations of each event for performance improvement.
* Work with the Community and Events Fundraising Lead to develop and manage the annual events budget.
* Record all processes and procedures related to event fundraising.
* Improve supporter journeys and ensure accurate recording in the Donorflex database.
* Support the Community and Events Fundraising Lead with other fundraising activities.
* Be an active member of the wider Income Generation team.
Fundraising Team Duties & Responsibilities
* Collaborate to meet and surpass fundraising targets.
* Review and report progress on fundraising goals.
* Process financial donations accurately.
* Maintain records of all donations.
* Encourage participation in the Gift Aid scheme.
* Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance.

* Conduct risk assessments for fundraising activities.
* Participate in training and development opportunities.
Flexibility and Commitment
Work regular evenings and weekends to support fundraising activities.
