An exciting opportunity has arisen for anInstrument Technicianto join a progressive and commercially drivenscientific instrument manufacturing company. Working within a skilled and motivated team, this role focuses onhigh-quality assembly and testingof vacuum-based instruments, with a strong emphasis on precision, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble high-quality vacuum instrumentsfrom kits of parts, working at a bench as part of a small team.
Overseeall aspects of instrument builds, including final inspection and testing.
Repair and service products, occasionally installing customer-owned instruments in-house or on-site.
Conducttesting and calibrationof finished products.
Travel may be required after gaining relevant product knowledge and experience.
Maintainaccurate administrative recordsto ensure compliance with quality standards.
What Were Looking For:
?Electro-mechanical assembly and test experiencein a relevant industry.
?Background inelectro-mechanical system build manufacturing .
?Ability tofault-find using circuit diagrams .
?Experience inelectrical and electronic testing .
?Hands-on experience withprecision-engineered mechanical assembly .
?Ability to read and interpretelectrical and mechanical engineering drawings .
?Experience usingelectrical test equipment(e.g., multimeters) andmechanical measurement instruments(e.g., micrometers, Vernier gauges).
?Strongmanual dexterityand experience using hand and power tools.
?High attention to detail and the ability to work totight production deadlines .
Preferred Experience (Not Essential):
Experience working withvacuum-based scientific instrumentation .
Understanding ofvacuum engineering principles .
Familiarity withhelium leak checkingand safe handling of pressurised gas bottles.
Knowledge ofLean Manufacturing techniques(Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, etc.).
Additional Requirements:
Goodcolour perception(must pass a colour perception test).
Ability tosit/stand for long periodsand handle heavy equipment as required.
Due to therural location ,own transport is essential .
