What skills and experience we're looking for
Cuckmere House, based in Seaford, is part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and is an 'Outstanding' all-boys SEMH Special school. We are passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters respect for others, develops resilience, promotes high expectations and prepares young males for successful futures.
The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. We are looking to recruit Teaching Assistant 2 within our secondary department. The ideal candidate should be innovative, enthusiastic, flexible, have an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures. You will be role models for our pupils at all times and should be able to demonstrate how you would model expected behaviours.
Our young people have social, emotional and mental health needs and therefore, resilience and a good sense of humour would be beneficial. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young males. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable, it is not essential and appropriate training will be provided for the right candidate.
