ABOUT ME:
I’m a female living at home with my assistant dog Jessi. I’m outgoing; I work in patient and public involvement in health research for University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals. I have a spinal cord injury (broken neck) and am therefore paralysed. I need support in most aspects of my life; if you need to do something for yourself and your environment, it is likely you will need to help me with it!
ABOUT YOU:
I am looking for a PA(s) to deliver person-centred care and help me live my life to the fullest. The ideal candidate does not have to have experience in care, as full training will be provided. You must have a clean and valid driver’s licence, be able to use your own vehicle for work, and potentially be willing to learn to drive my Mercedes Sprinter. It is important that you are open-minded and get to know how best to support me. Flexibility is essential; I live a busy life where no two days are the same, and there may be times when I require support at different times during the day.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Previous experience as a Healthcare or Personal Assistant is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
2. A caring and patient nature with excellent communication skills.
3. Ability to work independently with great listening skills.
4. Ability to support with specific moving and handling tasks, including use of manual wheelchair.
5. Flexibility to work to meet my needs (you may be required to do sleep-ins if required).
6. A clean and valid driver’s licence.
7. Access to own vehicle.
8. Literacy and IT skills.
9. Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
BENEFITS:
In return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
1. 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
2. Company pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the scheme rules.
3. Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
4. Free training and development for all roles.
5. Access to wellbeing and support tools.
6. ‘Star of the Month’ rewards and ‘Long Service Awards’.
HOURS:
Flexible to cover daytime hours Sunday to Wednesday.
