We are seeking an experienced and motivated Green Spaces Manager to lead the management of the Council’s Green Spaces service. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our residents and to promote active, creative, and outdoor living.
Key Responsibilities
* As the Green Spaces Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Strategic Development: Facilitating the implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the Council's Cultural Strategy, and being a part of developing a new strategy for Green Spaces to increase community participation and engagement.
* Performance Management: Ensuring adherence to service levels and quality standards, managing budgets, and developing service improvement plans to enhance service delivery.
* Team Leadership: Leading, managing, and motivating a dedicated team, providing guidance, support, and performance management to ensure the achievement of service objectives.
* Community Engagement: Acting as an advocate for the Culture, Sport, and Tourism portfolio, promoting Green Spaces to various community groups, including children, young people, older adults, and those requiring additional support.
* Commercial Strategy Development: Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement a robust commercial strategy for Green Spaces, which may include exploring new business models, developing promotional campaigns, and identifying potential grant opportunities to enhance the financial viability of the service.
* Event Management: Overseeing the planning and execution of community events and activities within Green Spaces that not only engage the public but also generate additional revenue and promote the value of these spaces within the community.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A level 7 qualification e.g. Post Graduate Certificates and Diplomas with extensive experience in this specialist area and other related areas of work, or a wider range of areas or evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team.
* A solid understanding of ecological and habitat management, alongside an appreciation for the Country Park ethos.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage budgets effectively, ensuring compliance with financial processes.
* Experience in developing and delivering business plans and managing performance metrics.
* A valid Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Work Schedule:
Please note that the role will require occasional evening, weekend, and Bank Holiday work, and you may be required to work flexibly at various locations.
