A new opportunity has arisen in the Quality department here at Swegon. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role will be reporting into the Quality Manager and will be based at our site in Snodland.
Position Summary:
As the new Quality Engineer, you will work in close partnership with the Quality, Engineering & Operations teams to address current challenges in both the office and factory, introducing new processes & procedures and driving continuous improvements across the full product life cycle. You will work with the wider team to make sure that our products are safe, reliable and meet customer expectations by challenging the processes, equipment and people to improve capability, reliability, performance and compliance all whilst keeping the design and manufacturing processes as effective and cost-efficient as possible.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Quality representation in Vantage Point responsible for product and process adherence
2. Assisting the Quality Manager with the maintenance and improvement of the ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS
3. Responsible for the Calibration System for Monitoring and Measurement Equipment
4. Performing Root Cause Analysis and driving robust corrective actions using proven methodologies (8D, 5Y, Cause and Effect etc.)
5. Performing Internal Quality & Environmental Audits ensuring findings are addressed in a timely manner
6. Leading site ISO audits (Quality, Environmental & Factory Process Control)
7. Perform dimensional and visual inspections and compiling reports
8. Assisting with introduction of new projects into the factory with the operational development team
9. Support the activities and documentation for the NPI & APQP Activities (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC).
10. Analysing Quality Performance and implementing improvements
11. Investigating nonconformances, performing trend analysis, identifying and implementing improvements
12. Participate in training sessions with process owners and operators
Experience:
Essential:
1. At least 3 years in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing company
2. Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of TS16949, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and PPAPs
2. Automotive Quality experience would be an advantage
3. Knowledge of lean principles
Qualifications:
Essential:
1. HNC or Equivalent Mechanical / Production Engineering. Technicians Certificate, Inspection/ Mechanical Apprenticeship
Desirable:
1. A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical or Materials engineering preferred)
